food.

I am not a cook AT ALL.  I felt a little sad about that fact, so I slowly started trying out some very simple recipes at home...and you know what, I actually kind of liked it.  I felt really proud of myself afterwards and was super happy to give my husband a little break from his nightly cooking.  Now I'm itching to try out a few more recipes.  Yesterday my sister and I hit up La Boulange and devoured one of their cauliflower tarts in about 3 seconds.  It was just that delicious!  Thinking that I might need to try my hand at making one at home.  Will keep ya posted.

arm party.

I'm kind of addicted to the arm party.  I realize that the notion of layering on a multitude of bracelets is nothing new, but it's something that I can't seem to get enough of these days.  I recently purchased a skull bracelet (similar to this one) that is a nice little addition to my otherwise rather girly arm party.

book club.

I'm part of a book club, which if I'm going to be completely honest is actually a wine club.  We get together every six weeks and DO actually discuss the book we've read, but it quickly turns into wine pouring and everyone discussing what is going on in their lives.  It is SO much fun and something I always look forward to.  I hosted the latest one at our house and quickly discovered that I didn't have enough wine glasses for everyone.  I dove into our collection of glassware and pulled out our mini mason jars.  I added a quick and easy little tag to each one (literally took me like 5 minutes and all of the girls loved them)...to personalize each glass.  It was such a fun night and I seriously can't wait for the next one.

the office.

Happy Friday!  I love short weeks and am super happy that it's almost the weekend.  Yesterday I was on the hunt for some new casual weekend outfits, and started perusing Free People's website.  All of the sudden I noticed that they have a blog.  Well, an hour went by in the blink of an eye as I totally ate up every little piece of that blog.  My favorite posts were on their "office style".  Uhhhh, hello...I'd love to be sporting this look to the office every day.  So cute!

crushing on kelly.

I'm a huge fan of Kelly Wearstler.  The way she uses colors & patterns is just amazing.  Ha, and even though our home is pretty much white on white on white, I like to add colorful artwork & interesting objects to make our home feel more lived in, to make it perfectly "us".  I'm slowly, but surely, trying to add even more pops of color and I can't seem to get my mind off of this image.  Love everything about it.

pants.

My day-to-day uniform seems to consist of maxi dresses with a sweater pulled on.  It's comfy and still gives you a pulled together look.  And although I love this look (and the feeling of wearing something so comfortable it pretty much feels like you just rolled outta the house in pajamas), I'm on the hunt for some pants.  I'm starting off slow and looking for some slouchy pants, and hope to evolve to something a little more structured.

paper.

How was your long weekend?  Ours was awesome, and for a weekend when we didn't really have a lot of solid plans, we managed to do A LOT.  We went to a birthday party, saw a movie, did a little shopping, went swimming, and met friends for drinks.  Our friend also put together a little last minute party to celebrate the 75th anniversay of the golden gate bridge and it was a blast!  We ate pizza at their house and then hiked up to the top of pacific heights to watch the amazing fireworks.  So much fun!  Now that the long weekend is over (boo!), it's time to get started on some long overdue projects.  First up, I'm helping with the planning of a friend's birthday party.  Time to gather some invitation inspiration.

happy weekend.

Cheers to a holiday weekend.  I'm so excited to have three whole days with my husband to bounce around the city.  We don't have a ton of plans, so I'm looking forward to just seeing where the weekend takes us.  Ohhhhh, and if you want to start your holiday off right, get to Trader Joe's immediately.  I was tempted to buy every single bunch of peonies they had in the store.  Gorgeous!

updo.

This fall I'm going to be a bridesmaid in a dear friend from college's wedding (yay!).  I'm on the search for a cute updo.  I rarely ever wear my hair up, so it's really hard for me to find something that I like and that I think will work for my hair.  My hair is naturally stick straight, so getting any kind of body out of it is a bit of a task.  I've started pinning a few styles that I like, but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

a few of my faves.

I'm been trying (rather unsuccesfully) to put a halt on shopping.  I've been looking around our home and truly appreciating all of the "stuff" that we already have.  Like our bourgie lamp and my favorite pair of lace booties.  And I've also been figuring out ways to wear what I already have in my closet with different pieces.  Like my new go-to date night outfit, pairing any of my sequins skirts (or dresses) with a chambray top.  A little sparkle and a little jean is the way to go.  And to top it all off?  Well, you can never go wrong some ban.do in your life.  I own two of the gold hearts that I wear in my hair, on my shirts, and as shoe clips.  They are golden heaven!
