swim sale.

I know, I know, what am I doing posting a photo of a bathing suit when it's the end of September.  Ummm people, it's Mara Hoffman (!) and it's on sale (!), score!  I already own one Mara beauty, so I won't be scooping this one up, but I think you should.  And hey, depending on where you live or where you take your next vacation, you totally might have a chance to wear it before next summer.

sofa dreams.

G and I aren't on the hunt for a new sofa quite yet (we simply adore the one his parent's gave to us years ago and really don't want to ever let it go).  When we DO decide to get a new one, tufted is what my dreams are made of.  Well a white chesterfield is REALLY what my dreams are made of, but I'm willing to compromise a bit as long as tufting is a part of the equation.

chair leg love.

I am smitten with the dip dyed legs of these chairs.  Such a simple diy, that adds a big punch to an otherwise simple wood chair.  Perhaps I need to hit up some garage sales over the weekend to find some chairs in need of a little tlc.

emmys.

Hi ya!  We are back from a whirlwind weekend.  We had an amazing time at our friend's wedding and danced our faces off.  Then we headed back to the city to celebrate this lovely girl's birthday and rocked out again.  So much fun!  Sunday afternoon I relaxed by watching the Emmys red carpet.  I'm kind of obsessed with red carpet's in general and love seeing the star's all done up.  I gotta say that my favorite look came before the show even started, and of course it was on my girl Giuliana Rancic.  A few people have told me that I remind them of her (my personality and some of my mannerisms).  The girl is awesome in my book, so any comparison to her makes me smile!  During the "emmy countdown show" she wore this beautiful white Rafael Cennamo dress that I was obsessed with!  That girl can rock anything and this dress was a definite show stopper!  Dang just wish I could find more pics of her in it.

bridesmaid time.

Taking off a little early this week, as I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding for a dear friend that my hubby and I went to college with.  She and her fiancé met while they were both on vacation in Bali.  How fricking romantic is that?  We can't wait to celebrate with them!  And I'll keep you updated on my hair (remember when I posted this?  I'm definitely leaning towards something with braids).

happy birthday madre.

Wishing my mom the happiest birthday ever today!

Madre, you are the sweetest person I know and I love you so very much.  I love that I can call you at 6am and know that I won't be waking you, because you've already been awake for at least an hour.  I love our talks and can't say thank you enough for your caring words when I need them the most.  And can we please talk about your cooking?  You are amazing in the kitchen and I envy your skills.  G and I hope this day brings you much joy!

And yes, this is a photo of me as a baby and my mom.  Everytime I look at it, I can't help but crack up.  My rolls, that oreo bikini, my mom's smile...it all makes me so happy!

glasses.

Have you guys heard of Warby Parker?  I hadn't til our friend Jaclyn told us about their awesome glasses.  Since G wears glasses, he checked out the site and immediately purchased the thatcher style.  Aren't they rad?  And the company policy is much like TOMS, "for every pair of glasses purchased, we provide a pair to someone in need".  You really can't beat that!  I don't wear glasses, but since they make non-prescription sunglasses too, I think these mabel sunnies need to be mine.

retail therapy.

Sometimes a little retail therapy is necessary to get you through a tough time, right?  G and I headed out and picked up a few items over the weekend.  Mind you, we don't really "need" anything, but it was a nice little outing that was much needed.  Here are a few things I scooped up.  Ummm you know, cause a faux fur vest is totally a necessity, right?!?  The sales girl laughed as I handed her the kids size XL at Zara.  She said, "This is totally for you, right?  I buy tons of the girl's clothing here in the largest size they come in because it's just as cute as the women's stuff and half the price".  True true!

white out.

From our home to my wardrobe, I'm kind of obsessed with anything and everything white.  These wide leg trousers caught my eye and in a second blink I found myself down a pinterest spiral searching for white ensembles.  I love how fresh, clean, and crisp these looks appear.  No white after Labor Day?  Not in my life!
