yep, i'm etsy obsessed.

Etsy has been my jam lately.  I mean, I have definitely shopped there before, but in the past few weeks I have found so many goodies that I just had to share.  These pillow covers are oh so pretty.  And at that price (under $40) they are definitely satisfying my desire for a moroccan wedding blanket which is a bit out of my budget.  I've also been on the hunt for some delicate jewelry and fell head over heels for these gold bands.  And while those gold ceramic clouds are meant to be hung on a wall, I recently used them laid out on a dinner table as decor and they were a hit.

modern budget. three.

So I'm back again with another modern budget post and ummmm I guess you are wondering why I didn't just call these series of posts, "modern forever21"....since that seems to be the only place I've been going lately.  The thing is, I know most people think, are you kidding me?  Who can shop at Forever 21 that is over the age of, I don't know, say 21?!?!?  Well, I would like to point out that I am well over the age of 21.  Yes, a lot of the items in this store are made for stick thin 14 year olds, but not everything is.  I am definitely not a petite little girl.  I am 5' 8" and I have hips for days (yay, I said it...it's true).  And I am able to find a variety of items to wear there.  I just size up in their pants and steer clear of any dresses that are form fitting.  And if you still aren't convinced and don't want to try and sort through piles of clothes at the store, don't worry, that's why I'm here...to do it for you.  I hope you enjoy these posts cause they are really fun to put together.

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of dresses.  This one is made of the softest material and it's black people...a color I rarely ever wear but I am trying to incorporate more into my wardrobe.  And do we even need to talk about the price?  It's a steal at $15.80.  This jacket ($39.80), well it's pretty much the cutest and most versatile item that I've come across in a long time.  You NEED it.

weekend fun.

Yay, it's Friday!  Any fun weekend plans for you?  I'm attending a clothing swap and I can hardly wait.  I've already started to sort through my closet to find some goods.  Eeeekkkk, here's to hoping I find some little gems as well.  Happy weekend everyone!

this dress.

So I think I already talked about this free people dress, but I just can't get enough of it, so I had to dedicate an entire post to it.  I wore it to an Anthropologie event and the amazing Abi Q snapped the below photo of me.  Thanks Abi!  I pulled out the dress again this morning and since it's sprinkling out I layered it up.  A white long sleeve tee underneath, skinny jeans, and these boots.  I'm telling you, this dress can be worn year around...it's a keeper!

And a huge happy birthday to my father-in-law today! Wishing you an awesome day and I can't wait for lunch so we can celebrate.

wallets on my mind.

Yesterday while lunching with a friend she pulled out the cutest little wallet.  It made me think, perhaps I should upgrade the sorry excuse of a wallet that I am currently using to one of the pretty ones below.  I mean, I'm always a fan of anything gold.

modern budget. two.

I headed back to Forever 21 for these two jean gems.  I mean, a girl can never have too many chambray shirts in her closet, right?  I have been wearing this one pretty much every day.  I've sported it as an actual shirt and also unbottoned over a dress.  Speaking of dresses, how adorable is this denim one?  Worn with my fave booties, it's the perfect transitional piece for Spring.  And the prices, well, they are pretty amazing: shirt ($29.80), dress ($29.80), booties ($29.99).

going lighter.

This hair color?  YES please.  I've been loving my ombre hair, but now I'm thinking I may want to go even lighter.  And when I spotted the below picture I thought that this might be just the look I am going for.  Ha, we shall see, as I seem to change my mind about this every few days.  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

wishing.

Oh you know, just a few items that I'm currently coveting.  I've had my eye on that vase for awhile now and that suit...well, I definitely think that needs to make an appearance this spring/summer.  Right?  And I may be just slighty obsessed with that little arrow bracelet.  So delicate and simple.  Eeeekkk, time for me to get off the internet.  There are too many amazing items to lust over.

stained lips.

When I reach for lipstick it's normally a hot pink color or a red-orangey hue.  Lately I've been eyeing more moody looks that I love.  These wine-stained, burgundy pretties are definitely looks that I'd like to incorporate into my own beauty routine.

heath.

I'd say it's about time I jump on the heath ceramics bandwagon, right?  My friends are always raving about their pieces and I love that they are locally made (Sausalito).  During a recent dinner at Rich Table, we noticed that the food was served on heath.  I mean, I could go on and on about the food alone at that restaurant, but I think the fact that it was served on beautiful ceramic plates just upped it's cool factor by 100%.  Now I'm off to save up my pennies so I can add one of these beauties to our home.
