travel.

Just been day dreaming over here about far away travels.  Morocco has always been high on my list, and I do believe that this hotel is calling my name.  And while a journey to Africa may not happen right away, a quick trip down to Big Sur is always a must.  The beauty of that place is stunning.

palm springs.

hello, hello!  Well my husband and I are back after an amazing week long vacation in Palm Springs (ohhh and a much needed stop to squeeze my nephews and niece).  We had a wonderful time staying at the Ace (I think they may have the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in) and eating our way through the town.  I had a lot of friends email me while we were away asking me about our fave spots in the desert, so I thought I'd put together a little guide for you.  Just a few hotels that we love and some yummy joints we frequent while there on vacation.  Enjoy!

To stay:

Ace Hotel: As I said, quite possibly the most comfy beds we've ever stayed in.  It's definitely got a hipster vibe to it, so it's not for everyone, but the rooms are awesome and usually pretty reasonable rates.

The Parker: This is by far my favorite hotel. The gorgeous grounds (with endless paths), make you want to just wander around all afternoon. And of course the hotel decor (designed by one of my faves, Jonathan Adler) is amazing! Sometimes you can find online deals, but you really have to search.

Korakia: This is still on our list of hotels to stay at. Everyone I know who has stayed there, can't stop talking about how wonderful it is.

To eat:

Cheeky's: Love this place for breakfast or brunch.

Mr Parker's at The Parker: Soooooo good for dinner. And shhhhhh, we once saw Drew Barrymore there.

Citron at Viceroy: We've been here for dinner and loved it.

Birba: Awesome drinks and the most delicious pizza.

chicago.

Oh Chicago, how do I even begin to say how much we adored our trip there.  It was cold, yes very cold, but that didn't damper our spirits one bit.  We walked the city and enjoyed every moment of it.  I loved seeing the bean and visiting the Art Institute.  Both incredible!  We popped into bhldn and I kind of wanted to move right in.  Such a pretty store filled with the most gorgeous dresses.  And one of the highlights was walking down to Navy Pier.  A spot where my now 97 year old grandpa met my grandma in 1944.  WOW!  We also spent two days in St. Joseph, Michigan.  Such a cute little town and we met the nicest people.  Oh gosh, and I almost forgot to talk about RPM in Chicago!  Ummmm I'm like a huge fan of Giuliana Rancic.  I think she is absolutely the cutest, so I knew we just had to go to her and her husband's restaurant.  It did not disappoint.  The food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing!  I mean, we went there at 10pm on a Tuesday night (10pm is my normal bedtime, so I couldn't even believe we were going to dinner at that time) and the place was p a c k e d!  Like crazy packed.  It was definitely worth the late night trip...yum!  Check out a few pics from our trip.  I seriously can't wait for a return visit to the midwest.

nyc.

I've been day dreaming about a trip to New York.  I've been there a handful of times and have always had the most amazing time.  The sights, the sounds...everything about that city is magical.  Eeeeeekkk and going there during the holiday time is so special.  I love seeing everything decorated.  Oh gosh, and can we talk about the food?  I honestly have never had a bad meal there.  Oh man, New York, I miss you.
