This fall I'm going to be a bridesmaid in a dear friend from college's wedding (yay!). I'm on the search for a cute updo. I rarely ever wear my hair up, so it's really hard for me to find something that I like and that I think will work for my hair. My hair is naturally stick straight, so getting any kind of body out of it is a bit of a task. I've started pinning a few styles that I like, but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I'm been trying (rather unsuccesfully) to put a halt on shopping. I've been looking around our home and truly appreciating all of the "stuff" that we already have. Like our bourgie lamp and my favorite pair of lace booties. And I've also been figuring out ways to wear what I already have in my closet with different pieces. Like my new go-to date night outfit, pairing any of my sequins skirts (or dresses) with a chambray top. A little sparkle and a little jean is the way to go. And to top it all off? Well, you can never go wrong some ban.do in your life. I own two of the gold hearts that I wear in my hair, on my shirts, and as shoe clips. They are golden heaven!

I have been on the search for this J.Crew dress for what seems like ages. I was in love with the print and the style (long sleeved minis are awesome). It quickly sold out online, in-stores, and I couldn't find it anywhere on eBay. Then last week I decided to give it another whirl, and there it was on eBay and in! my! size! Oh and almost half of the original price tag. done & done! Don't you just love it when stuff like that happens?

At the moment, I'm craving a little summer getaway. Yay, yay, yay...I realize it's not quite summer yet, but I'm aching for it now. I mean I'm not going to lie, I'm not exactly the girl that's waiting for the season to begin just so she can run off to the beach. I will most definitely be hitting up the beach, but I will be the girl with a HUGE umbrella shading me. But it's more then just the sun that summertime brings. It brings about a certain carefree attitude, a vacation mode, a sense of new things to come. I'm ready for that feeling and I believe that the anticipation deserves a new dress to go along with it. Don't you? I do believe that this lovely little yellow number would do the trick. Uhhh hello, add a cute sun hat and sandals...we are done.
By the way, after I wear the stunning yellow number on my summer vacation (ha, do you notice that I'm already pretending like it's mine?)...I will definitely doll it up with a statement necklace and some amaze heels. If I'm going to buy a pricey dress, I get a lot of bang for my buck (aka I wear it every chance I get).
First off, I have to say a super-huge-big thanks to everyone for the kind comments. I'm so excited to be blogging again! So, I thought I'd start off with my fave obsession, chairs. Yes, I can't get enough of them. I used to work for a furniture manufacturer, so I was lucky enough to have a pretty deep discount and purchase a few lovelies. I have to admit, they are my happy place.
And my newest obsession has turned to poufs. We have a gold moroccan pouf, but I'm itching for more. Please help me, I can't stop.

Oh yay, remember that one time that I said I was going to start a blog called modern sequins? Well, here it is! Nothing too fancy, just a little place to talk about some of my favorite things. So, why the name? Well I'm more then slightly obsessed with modern design, and have a major love affair with sequins. So I thought why not combine the two. I'll be talking about my fave fashion finds. Ummmmm, not gonna lie I'm not exactly a "high-end" shopper, but I swear even the cheapest of finds (cough cough, F21), can look expensive when you style your look right. And I know I'll be sharing my lastest interior design obsessions. Like I might even admit that I have a major chair problem. As in, I can't stop buying them even if we have absolutely no more room in our apartment for them. I hope you enjoy getting a little glimpse into my life with my hubby.
