candle light.

The other night a group of girlfriends and I got to talking about candles.  We all agreed that they are the perfect gift (for a hostess, birthday, holiday).  I have to admit that I used to turn my nose up at pricey candles, but now that I've received a few as gifts, I'm going to say that my mind has definitely changed.  I swear that these candles pack a much bigger scent punch, and they last for-ever!  These are my two faves, trish mcevoy wild blueberry vanilla & voluspa santiago huckleberry.  Do you have any favorites that I should try out?

holiday lights.

Over the weekend, we got started on a little holiday decor.  Is it a bit too early for that?  Ha, maybe, but I couldn't help myself.  I sprinkled a few string lights around our home.  I also switched up the light we have hanging in our living room.  Day-to-day we have a white tord boontje pendant light, which I love love love.  I actually have a long love affair with tord boontje.  For our wedding day I may have asked the venue to change out ALL of the lighting so we could hang our tord boontje pendant lights (and a few of my fave gehry cloud lamps).  Eeeeekkk, was that going a bit too far?  Probably...ha!  So, back to the holiday decor.  We switched out the white for a gold light and I'm loving the soft glow it casts on our living room.  Now I'm ready for the weather to cool down even a bit more and to spend evenings relaxing in our living room amongst the lights.

a bold statement.

We had a great weekend, including an impropmtu dinner with friends (aren't last minute plans always the best), the beginning of some holiday decorating (more on that later), and a little ummmm shopping by me.  You know I said in my last post I was obsessed with this Anthropologie skirt, so of course I had to swing by the store really quickly to just take a browse.  I ended up picking up this amazing statement necklace that I already wore out (to that impromptu dinner on Saturday night).  It's so sparkly and fun, definitely something I will be sporting to a lot of holiday parties.

tulle dreams.

Wow, I've been very spotty on my blog posts this week (ummm as in I only got around to blogging once), but things have been a little chaotic around these parts, so a small break was needed.  Now, I'm BACK!  Last night G and I went to the J.Crew - Vogue event and had the best time!  While there I spotted the cutest girl sporting this skirt from Anthropologie (which I'm kind of in love with).  She paired it with an adorable plaid shirt (similar to this J.Crew one).  Man, I wish I would have gotten a photo of her....I loved the way she styled the skirt to make it a little less ballerina-ish.

UPDATE: I got a tweet from @anthropologie regarding this post, and here's a photo of the cute girl I spotted last night.  So adorable, right?

the loveliest party.

Opppps, Monday kind of snuck by in a hurry...but I'm here.  We had the most incredible weekend, including a surprise birthday party, a night out dancing (what? I haven't done that in who knows how long), and ended it off at the most amazing dinner party.  Jacin and her husband were the perfect hosts for a gorgeous garden dinner party.  The food was so so so delicious, and the decor...well it was just perfect.  I mean, are you kidding me with those golden pineapples, they were the cutest things ever (we even took one home & it's loving it's new spot next to our ghost chair...ha)!  All of us at the party literally could not stop snapping photos of that gorgeous table.  And of course, the friends who we spent all night laughing with were what made it the most special evening (all of these girls plus their significant others, Crystal, Taylor, Amanda, Edyta, Natalie, Jacin).  Thanks girls and guys for a wonderful night!

stunning home.

Oh hello there gorgeous house, when can G & I move in?  Seriously, I am drooling over this space.  Love all of the indoor-outdoor options, for dining, for relaxing, for sleeping.  Wow, I guess I'll be spending my weekend daydreaming of this place.

rain gear.

While on the hunt for the perfect little rain coat (I believe this one will fit the bill), I stumbled upon these ladies.  I mean, hello, they are definitely looking quite chic in the rain.  Wouldn't you agree?

happy halloween.

Hope everyone is enjoying this fun filled holiday!  I for one plan on celebrating by indulging in my favorite candy, Reese's...yum!  Just a fun little photo to say Happy Halloween from G and I.  We went to celebrate the rebrand and relaunch of The Stylish Soiree and Tinywater Photography (Milou + Olin) last night at the Argonaut Hotel.  It was such a fun celebration with some of the loveliest people.

rainy days.

The rainy season is about to hit at any moment and I'm completely unprepared.  Every year I say I'm going to buy a raincoat, but I never do and end up running around with my umbrella and winter coat that ends up half soaked when I reach my destination.  This year I'm determined to find some proper rain gear.  I'd love to find something that is functional and just a bit stylish...is it out there?  This little pink number might just do the trick.

pretty little dresses.

I'm all about the little white dress.  I honestly just can't get enough!  They are so fun and easy to wear during the summer months, then once winter hits, they can easily be transitioned.  I just add some black opaque tights, a faux leather jacket, a bright clutch, and I'm out the door.  These dresses by For Love and Lemons might be a little more of the cream / ivory variety, but I love them just the same.  I think this one might need to end up in my closet.
