goldies.

Yesterday I almost screamed in the middle of Target.  I spotted this gold side table and I literally ran over to grab it (last one in the store).  It is so amazing and ummmm I think everyone needs one, don't you?  Hello, it's even on sale for $47.99.  You seriously can't beat that price.  And here's another item that's making me scream...this gorgeous bangle.  so so so pretty!  Ok, that's it for this Tuesday.  Enjoy shopping. :)

soups.

This weekend I found myself in the oddest of places, the kitchen.  Ha!  My husband is the regular chef in this family, but I really am determined to learn how to make at least a few good dishes.  So this past Saturday I found myself busting out our food processor and preparing two yummy soups.  Both were equally delicious and my husband and I both had our favorites.  I leaned towards the chilled cucumber avocado soup (recipe here), while G really loved the creamy cauliflower soup (recipe here).  All in all I can definitely tell you that these recipes are super easy for someone who rarely spends time in the kitchen.  The instuctions were simple to follow and the end results were definite crowd pleasers in this home.

art.

I'm still on the hunt for some new art to hang above our mantle.  These two pieces have caught my eye.  Love the neutral colors in this illustration by one of my faves, Kelli Murray.  We already own quite a few of her pieces (we registered for some for our wedding), and I'd certainly love to add more to our growing collection.  And those lips by Jen Ramos.  Well there's just something about the hot pink colors that are calling out to me.

beautiful home.

I stumbled across this amazing Australian home on Design Sponge and literally couldn't stop staring at the images.  The light in this home is simply incredible.  And of course I am in love with all of the white.  The owner states, "White white white is always my mantra, with carefully collected layers over the years, usually in a grey/blue colour way."  Yep, it's safe to say that I would like to move right into this space.

dreaming.

Have you ever been to Tulum?  I'm been to Mexico many times in my life, but never to Tulum.  I've had several friends who have visited lately and all come back with tales of how incredibly magical this little place is.  All saying that it is very peaceful and a wonderful place to visit.  I'm ready to go!

another one.

Oh Target, I just can't help but be obsessed with another one of your rugs.  I think we can all recall the long obsession I had with this little gem.  And now to find another pretty one at good old Target...eeeek, I'm having a hard time putting down the credit card.

pretty whites.

I have definitely been changing things up in my wardrobe by incorporating more pattern and even some black pieces.  But when I'm in a fashion rut (or really just have no time and want to fly out the door), I reach for my old staple of an all white ensemble.  Here are some pretty pieces I wouldn't mind reaching for.

art wall.

I've been thinking of changing up the art that hangs above our mantle.  I'm in the mood for some more neutral pieces.  Maybe a few black and white photos or netural colored paintings.  But then again I always love a little pop of color thrown in there too.  This art wall is definitely calling out to me.

bake off.

I used to spend a lot of time in the kitchen baking and lately I've been missing it.  My speciality was baking up a mean cupcake, but I want to explore a bit more with making cakes.  Of course the flavor has to be great, but for me it's all about decorating the cake too.  I love using fruit and flowers to finish off a pretty little dessert.

hostess.

I definitely think the little succulent sculptures from yesterday's post would be the perfect hostess gift, and it made me think about what other hostess gifts I've recently come across.  Below are a few of my faves.  Uhhh hello, that adorable heart shaped ice tray is less then $5.  And be sure to check out my first little round-up here.
